Sponsoring a child is one of the best ways you can make an impact on a young person’s life through Hope for Guatemala. Your donation helps provide a multitude of benefits and services to the children in Zone 18 that we serve.
$35 a month helps give hope to a child in the following manner:
School supplies
Public schools provide few or no supplies and most parents cannot afford to buy them.
School fees
While the government has waived fees officially there are still costs associated with public school including textbooks and workbooks.
School uniforms Again,
schools are no longer permitted to require uniforms but many still do for safety and identity.
Medical care
Bety is on Esperanza’s Board of Directors. Her new role is to serve in the health and hygiene program of the ministry. Bety will use her expertise and years of experience in the health care field to provide medical attention, education, and advice to children and teenagers, also will provide Routine care helping the children with emergencies, eye exams, and dental extractions.
Medicine
Hope for Guatemala stocks some basic medicines and assists children when possible to purchase necessary meds.
Nutritious Meal Monday to Friday
Part of your monthly donation goes to the purchase of items needed to make the daily lunch, which is not provided by CENMA or Casa de Dios.
Before and After School tutoring and homework assistance
Most of our children do not have a clean, safe area in which to do their homework and no one to help them. Hope provides them with not only supplies to do their work but assistance with assignments or tasks which would otherwise be difficult or not get done.
Excursions and Extracurricular Activities
Periodically we take Hope’s kids on fun, cultural, spiritual, and educational outings. Some examples are the zoo, symphony, movie theater, sporting events, the park, circus, concerts, ballet, conferences and church services.
Administrative and Overhead Costs
A small percentage of your donation also goes to pay electricity, rent, and water bills.
