Spiritual Program

Spiritual

Hope provides values lessons from Monday to Friday based on the Bible, the Word of God. We know that as Hope for Guatemala, we will only achieve our mission and reach our vision of breaking the cycle of poverty through the transformation that comes from knowing our Creator and His Word as our guide. Jesus said, “Let the children come unto me and do not impede them, for they are the Kingdom of Heaven”. Every day we give our children a capsule of values and Biblical teachings, filled with love, and mixed with games to help them learn and put into practice what they’ve been taught in their everyday lives.

Prayer

As part of their spiritual education, we share with the children how to be grateful and give thanks to God for the people who support and help us both nationally and internationally. In this way we teach the children to communicate with God and pray for others. It is important to remind them that our dependence is entirely on God and that Hope is only a conduit that God uses to send his blessings and when we have a need we can go directly to God for help.

Bible Reading and Instruction

Thanks to a missionary Group from the United States, we obtained nearly 100 Bibles that we use during the week. Through activities and games we motivate the children to memorize scriptures and familiarize them with the Word of God. This also reinforces our efforts to develop a culture of reading; and what better way to do it than with the Bible.
